The lightning Witch is my take on the short lived Buck Light Knife. I thought it looked like an intriguing idea and with a few modifications, it could be a really handy woods knife. First thing I did, was of course I dropped the edge. Then after that I lengthened it and finally I flip flopped the serrations and the saw back. I knew it would be more useful for me as a woods knife design if the serrations were just in front of the handle on the spine instead of out on the nose. I like to use serrations in that area to make super quick, fine shavings for tinder. The saw teeth set out on the nose of the knife are still pretty useful.
The idea behind the Last-Ditch Witch, of having no handle scales, applies to this knife as well. That’s why it has “Witch” in its name. Check out the entry on the Last-Ditch Witch to read about why it’s actually pretty handy to have a knife with no handle.
Like the LDW, you can get a handle on this one if you choose. The big difference between the LDW and the Lighting Witch is size. The Lightning Witch is a whole lot bigger knife.
